What is it?

Support Downtown retailers this holiday season by shopping online directly on your favorite store’s website, and you’ll receive FREE SHIPPING courtesy of Downtown Visions. Shop between 10/1/23 and 12/31/23 to receive free shipping.

How does it work?   

Shop online with a participating Downtown Wilmington DE small business retailer during the holiday season and receive free shipping. It’s as simple as that! Downtown Visions will cover the cost of the shipping for both you and the retailer.

 Are you a Small Business Retailer in Downtown Wilmington!?
Participating is easy – and the rules are simple. 

• Your business must be located within the Wilmington Downtown DE Business Improvement District (See the map below)

• Your business must have online sales capabilities and ship throughout the continental U.S. 

• Your business must advertise Free Shipping to customers this holiday season and ship items free of charge to the customer during the months of October, November and December 2023.  Free shipping costs are not to exceed $100 per month per business.

• Your business must include the Downtown Visions logo in any marketing or promotional material used and advertised.

• Your business must request reimbursement by providing documentation of shipping costs, along with the date, basic product info, price, and the zip code to which the product(s) was (were) shipped to Downtown Visions at 409 N. Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 by January 15, 2024 or by email.

• Once the reimbursement request is verified, Downtown Visions will send a check directly to your business in the total amount of the shipping costs incurred. 

• Fine print: Documentation of shipping costs must be legible and from online sales only.  DTV has the final authority to decide if documentation is adequate. Reimbursement requests will be processed on a first come first served basis through January 15, 2024, or until funds are exhausted.

COVID-19 Small Business Marketing Support

Downtown Visions continually looked for ways to support our Downtown Wilmington DE businesses during the pandemic. Various initiatives were created to help raise awareness and draw customers Downtown, including Curbside Wilmington, Dine Downtown Deal, Free Valet Parking, and Free Shipping Promotion.

Meet & Greets

Downtown Visions holds quarterly “Meet & Greets” at rotating locations throughout Downtown Wilmington, with interesting topics and speakers and of course great networking. Attendance is consistently over 100 people and a great way to meet your fellow business owners and potential new customers.

Business Marketing

To ensure that the region’s residents as well as tourists, visitors and potential investors are aware of Downtown Wilmington’s unique attractions and importance to the region’s economy, Downtown Visions currently uses a wide range of communications to promote the Downtown. Through news media contacts, press releases, social media, email, newsletters, web/mobile site and other means, Downtown Visions encourages visitation, tourism and investment. Downtown Visions partners with tourism, economic development, arts and cultural organizations, city and state government. As well, Downtown Visions shares and markets each business within the BID. Downtown Visions collects all business information including description, social links, products, images, etc. This information is available on Downtown Visions web/mobile site with each Downtown business having a separate page. We help businesses claim and verify their business on Google Places, Maps and selected social media sites. By listing each business they will immediately be visible to all consumers. We assist small business owners with the tools and training needed to utilize social media resources. This service may include collecting images, designing logos, graphic design and writing content done by local marketing and graphic design professionals who are also businesses located within the BID. Working with these marketing professionals we make recommendations, SWOT analysis and implement a marketing plan for businesses.

Music in the Streets

From Rodney Square down to the Loma District in partnership with Gable Music Ventures, Downtown Visions is creating opportunities for emerging musicians.

Outdoor Concert Venue — Downtown Visions is activating a vacant lot at 407 – 411 N Market Street with live music, food and beverages every Thursday starting at 5:00 p.m. Friday evenings and Saturday daytime may be added. The lot will also be offered to non-profits to stage events and fundraisers. Private companies wishing to stage events that benefit the community are welcome to apply.

Street Musicians — Downtown Visions is authorized by City Ordinance to issue permits for street musicians and other creative entertainment.
