Biking in Wilmington

For over ten years, Urban Bike Project has been supporting Wilmington communities by providing access to bicycling as a healthy, affordable and practical means of transportation and recreation.

Here's Paul Waters from the Urban Bike Project to explain what they do:

This Friday, September 30, you can help out by donating any used bikes or bike parts you might have at Rodney Square.

Come on out Friday to Rodney Square to learn more, drop off your bike, or sign up to have your bike picked up on Saturday.

You might also want to learn more about joining up with the Urban Bike Project - it's a great organization that's always looking for more people to get involved!

Christina Cultural Arts Celebration

We have a truly remarkable artistic community in Downtown Wilmington - and this past weekend one of the cornerstones of that community held a fantastic celebration.

Alumni, faculty, and students at the Christina Cultural Arts Center gathered for a block party last Saturday with dance, music, paints, crafts, and so much more!

We are fortunate to have so much talent in Downtown Wilmington.

Downtown's Nicole Lyn Crowned Miss Black America!

The newly crowned Miss Black America is Nicole Lyn of Downtown Wilmington!

We at Downtown Visions first got to know Nicole when she started singing for us at our Farmers Markets and at events like the Ladybug Festival and at great downtown venues like World Cafe Live at the Queen and Bobbi Rhians.

Both the News Journal and Technical.ly Delaware have published articles about Nicole's accomplishments, including her presentation this week at TEDxWilmington.

We are proud of Nicole Lyn and all she has accomplished in and for our Downtown Wilmington!
