For the past century, Downtown Wilmington has been home to a theater that has featured hundreds of Broadway productions and countless shows featuring music, drama, and acrobatics of all kinds.
Now, the leadership team at the Grand Opera House are expanding their responsibilities and taking the reigns of the Playhouse on Rodney Square.
Executive Director Mark Fields and Managing Director of Programming Stephen Bailey sat down with hundreds of patrons of the Playhouse to talk about the transition and plans for the future of both of these great theaters.
People who have attended shows at the Playhouse for decades came from all over the mid-Atlantic region to share their experiences, ideas, and hopes for the future of the Playhouse.
I think I speak for many in the area when I say that I share in that excitement and I look forward to experiencing more great theater in Downtown Wilmington.
