Let's talk about dating

They're calling it "Swipe Left: Love, Dating & Situationships" and it looks very interesting.

We're fortunate to have both TEDxWilmington and Accelerate Delaware, two organizations that are committed to exploring interesting new advances in society and positioning Wilmington to be on the cutting edge of those advances.

So, this Thursday, Feb. 16, come on out for a truly interesting event:

Click Here to get your tickets.

I'll let my friend Ajit explain more:

The first TEDxWilmingtonSalon of 2017, entitled “Swipe Left: Love, Dating & Situationships,” features four speakers, including actress Yvonne Orji, co-star of the HBO hit series “Insecure,” who will share their unique perspectives on Thursday, February 16, 2017, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the World Cafe Live at The Queen.
The Salon will explore the intricate complexities of love and dating and how shifting cultural norms, technology, and trends like 'cuffing,' ‘ghosting,’ Netflix and Chill are impacting the way we date, the types of situations we enter into, and our expectations about love and relationships.
This topic is generating a great deal of interest with young professionals, and we’re pleased to start the 2017 season with such a fun and lively topic.

and Kia Ervin from Accelerate Delaware had this to add:

We developed this TEDx Salon to address the unique challenges that young professionals face today in their search for meaningful romantic relationships. This event directly aligns with our mission which is to engage millenials in Delaware through professional growth and personal enrichment opportunities.

I hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage in Downtown Wilmington.

PARKER FAMILY DONATION DRIVE
This holiday season we’re going to honor the spirit and generosity of the Parker family, who, despite losing so much of their own in a tragic house fire last week in Wilmington, are still fighting to continue their support of the community through 23 year-old Quira’s nonprofit The Fairy God Sisters Of Delaware. You can read more about this INspiring family on their Go Fund Me page or the recent Delaware Online article (linked in the comments below).

We ask all attendees to bring an item to help support the needs of the family. Clothing and everyday staples would be very helpful (known sizes below). The children lost the majority of their belongings in the fire - both necessities and passions - clothes, shoes, bedroom furniture, linens, a computer, sports equipment, musical instruments, camera equipment and other electronics. Obviously, we won't be able to replace all of these things, but with so much to rebuild, even providing common items - clothes, towels, sheets, blankets, pots & pans, grocery gift cards, etc. - we’re sure to help the Parker Family ease INto a brighter new year!
