9th Mile Galleria Event Center Awarded a Façade Grant of $8,025 through The Downtown Visions Main Street Façade Improvement Program

Through the Downtown Visions Main Street Façade Improvement Program the owner of 9th Mile Galleria located at 603 N Market Street was awarded a façade grant for $8,025.

The grant went towards both his front and back façade which included masonry, stucco, addressing concrete issues, structural framing, new doors, new transom, steel lintels, windows, trim  and exterior paint.

9th Mile Galleria is a state-of-the-art event center and banquet facility with a maximum occupancy of 100, with comfortable seating for 65. The 7th Annual Ladybug Festival presented by Chase Kicks off Next Weekend!

Getting recognized by Bilboard.com was just the beginning. Going into their 7th year, the all-female music festival featuring some of the best talent in the country is taking gender inequality on by storm, providing free concerts to the public and getting an entire city pumped up with excitement. 

This year's festival promises to be the largest yet, with music venues, coffee shops, pizza parlors, and even beauty salons taken over by the block-party like atmosphere with talented female musicians in every corner. There will even be an event dedicated to children, called, Little Ladybugs within the Delaware History Museum.

The parade will start at noon at the intersection of 4th and King Street in Wilmington, DE.

St. Patrick's Day Parade Hooley will follow the parade. The hooley will take place at the parking lot at 14th & King Street (end of the parade route). A large tent will be at that location. There will be commemorative mugs, which allows 'Unlimited beer mug refills' throughout the afternoon. Proper ID for proof of age is required for beer.

Quaker Hill Historic Preservation Foundation Presents the Annual Dickinson Memorial

Join historian Dick Carter on February 17th to learn more about our local Founding Father on this 250th Anniversary of his writings "Letters from a Farmer." Dickinson descendant Evelyn Swenssen will be performing his Liberty Song, Mayor Purzycki is slated to read the eulogy and a beautiful wreath by Quaker Hill florist Flowers by Tino will laid at Dickinson's grave in the Wilmington Friends cemetery.  All are welcome to attend this event presented by the Quaker Hill Historic Preservation Foundation.

The Quaker Hill Historic Preservation Foundation is Historic Preservation & Education non-profit dedicated to sharing and preserving the vital history of the Quaker Hill Historic District in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Free Underground Railroad Workshops, field trips, tours, publications and more are part of their efforts. 

The team of individuals are devoted to ensuring the neighborhood still retains a diverse architectural character, inherited from the 1978 designation of Quaker Hill as a National Register Historic District. Recent renovation and restoration of remaining structures, coupled with the construction of new housing, give definite signs of a revitalization of Quaker Hill.
